A Canadian politician actually thought it was smart to use colours of people to explain his analogy about the different workers needed across the country.
It makes lots of sense to bring immigrants who would be willing to get off the couch and work those jobs. So it makes sense to many of us, including those that live near Brooks where there is a massive slaughterhouse.
Instead of disparaging hard working "brown" people and lazy "white" people he could have made a serious point about East Coast people unwilling to move where the jobs are. That would not have been racist or insensitive.
