Bill Maher: " A religious event is no place for facts"

Bill Maher likes to poke the bear, he went on a religion rant on Friday night. His best line was pointing out that a religious event has not place for facts, he mocked the Middle East for getting upset at burning a pilot, while still beheading people.

If his points are true, in particular that religious events are no place for facts, then what is the point of religious events? Emotions?
